A Waterboro man died early Saturday morning just over the town line in Limerick after losing control of his motorcycle and striking a utility pole.
Kirk Fogarty, 44, was driving on New Dam Road around 1 a.m. when he failed to navigate a curve in the road and hit a pole on the left side, the York County Sheriff said.
Authorities didn’t say when the crash was called in or when emergency workers arrived, but Waterboro EMS pronounced Fogarty dead on the scene. Speed appears to have been a factor in the crash, which is still under investigation.
Fogarty was wearing a helmet, Sheriff William King said.
