
Two pedestrians were killed and another person was injured in a vehicle crash in Augusta on Thursday afternoon, the Augusta Police Department said in a news release.
The accident happened around 2 p.m. in the area of 269 Cony Road, police said.
Two of the three pedestrians involved were killed and one person was taken to the hospital, according to Augusta Fire Deputy Chief Dave Groder. The extent of the person’s injuries wasn’t known Thursday, and police did not release their identities.
The details of the crash are being investigated by Augusta police, and the crash is being reconstructed by Maine State Police. Cony Road between Piggery Road and Eastern Ave. was closed while state police reconstructed the accident.
