The next steps to be taken in the Johnson Road and Depot Road Intersections with Route 88 Study are scheduled for discussion at a Falmouth Town Council meeting at 8 a.m. Friday, May 7.
Public comment will not be allowed and council action is not anticipated.
In summer 2019, Town Manager Nat Poore began developing options to improve the Johnson Road-Route 88 intersection after residents aired concerns about car/bike/pedestrian safety and traffic studies indicated the intersection is a high collision location, according to the council agenda.
Based on feedback from residents and town staff, consultant T.Y. Lin drafted an improvement plan and funding recommendations that will be discussed at the meeting. Additional public input will likely be taken before recommendations are finalized, according to town officials.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
