Sen. Anne Carney, D-Cape Elizabeth, who represents part of Scarborough, will hold virtual public office hours at 7 p.m., instead of the originally scheduled time, on Thursday, April 29 via Zoom, and it will be broadcast via Facebook live.
Public office hours provide local residents a chance to meet with their elected officials, ask questions and get help with legislative or state government matters.
Sen. Carney will answer questions and give updates on her work as chair of the Judiciary Committee as well as her work on the Environmental and Natural Resources Committee, in addition to the Legislature’s work more broadly. We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
