Lela M. (Smith) Swett

PORTLAND – Lela M. (Smith) Swett, of Portland, passed away peacefully April 19, 2021, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born In Portsmouth, N.H. to Otis and Bertha (Veno) Smith of Munjoy Hill, and attended Portland schools.

She was employed by the Portland Press Herald, retiring after 24 years of service.

She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Richard D. Swett; her children William, Linda, Pamela, and Michael Fisher, and Karen Swett; grandchildren Heather, David, Rebecca, Tara, Royce, and Aimee; as well as great-grandchildren Owen, Royce Louis, Nicholas, Maegan, Quinn, Astara, Avery, and Giana .

She was predeceased by daughter-in-law, Pamela Ruth Fisher.
