Kymbrid Joseph Dorr

PORTLAND – Kymbrid Joseph Dorr, 81, of Portland passed away on Friday April 16, 2021 at his home.

Kym grew up in Augusta and was in the fire department, managed a local shoe store, was a member of the Jaycees and the Eagles. He moved to Portland in the early 1970s. Kym worked as office manager at the Maine Department of Human Services in Portland and in later years was the shuttle driver for Rowe Ford.

He and his wife Jeannie loved to travel and their favorite destination was the Hawaiian Islands. Kym love of all kinds of music and enjoyed watching Film Noir on TCM. Kym and Jeannie were longtime volunteers at the Ronald McDonald House in Portland, a place very close to their hearts.

Kym is predeceased by his parents, father, Linwood Dorr and mother, Dora McCullough.

Kym is survived by his wife of 47 years, Jeannie; son, Kymbrid Dorr II and his wife Louise, daughter, Staci Dorr and her spouse Lori Mumford Dorr; granddaughter, Jamie Pare and her husband Ryan and their daughters Cora and Callie.

A public visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday April 30 at A.T. Hutchins Funeral Home, 660 Brighton Ave. in Portland. A private burial will follow after the visitation.
