SCARBOROUGH – Gladys (Adams) Knowlton, 93, of Falmouth, passed away on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at the Gosnell Memorial Hospice House. She was the wife of the late Francis Knowlton.

She was born in Portland on Feb. 3, 1928, a daughter of the late Peter E. and Sarah M. (Johnson) Adams.

Gladys work for many years working for Verizon. After retiring, she and her husband moved to St. Petersburg, Fla. were she volunteered at the St Vincent’s Episcopal Church at the thrift store. Gladys was also a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

The last of her immediate family, she is survived by her son-in-law, Philip Chase of Falmouth; and her nephew, Peter E. Adams and his family.

A private burial will be held at the St. Vincent’s Episcopal Memorial Garden at a later date.
