Fellow Cumberland voters, check out Town Council candidate Mark Segrist. He gets the critical role of a healthy environment in our lives, appreciates the increasing demand to connect everyone to nature and acts on serving the community where he lives. Mark brings a broad experience with him from international trade law and pro bono community legal services, from conservation committee work to basketball.

If you want to get to know him, reach out. He’ll meet you on a bike path on trails he helped create or grab some nachos at Rachel’s to discuss his experiences and vision for the town.

Cumberland deserves the insight and attention that Mark has to offer. Vote on June 8 to put Mark Segrist on the Cumberland Town Council.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
