A fire Monday afternoon destroyed a home at 111 Pinewoods Road, according to Lisbon Fire Chief Nate LeClair.
No one was home when the fire broke out but two cats died in the blaze, according to LeClair. The home, a 1979 mobile home with several renovations, is likely a total loss, LeClair said.
A passerby saw smoke coming from the roof of the home and reported the fire at around 1:40 p.m., according to LeClair. He arrived to find smoke and flames coming from one end of the house.
LeClair called for help from five neighboring fire departments. Crews had extinguished the fire by 4:30 p.m. but remained to make sure the flames were completely out until 6:30 p.m. Pinewoods Road remained closed to traffic until 6:30 p.m.
LeClair said it appears the fire started on the side of the home where the kitchen is located. The cause of the fire was still under investigation as of 8 p.m.
According to Lisbon assessor Kathy Malloy, the home belongs to Joseph Dube Jr., and Denise Dube. The home was valued at $46,000.
LeClair said they have relatives they can stay with.
