St. Patrick’s Day delight

Jennifer Armstrong will give a St. Patrick’s Day performance at 6:30 p.m. March 17 via Zoom. Armstrong has spent her life writing, singing and making music with fiddle, bagpipe, banjo and words. She is a storyteller, singer, instrumentalist, poet and published author. A featured teller at the National Storytelling Festival in 1998 and 2010, Armstrong will share her Scottish border clan heritage in a program of mouth music, ballads, bagpipes, fiddle and Celtic tales. Free fishing week

Free Fishing License Week is taking place now through Feb. 21. The special free week was created to give everyone a chance to enjoy ice fishing. On these days, any person (except those whose license has been suspended or revoked) who registers with the department may fish without a license. All other laws and regulations apply on these days. Nonresidents and residents may participate. Registration is required online at surveymonkey.com/r/freefishinglicenseweek. Ages 15 and younger do not need to register.

Town nominations opened

Nomination papers will be available beginning 8:30 a.m. March 1 for the positions of selectman, Budget/Finance Committee and RSU 14 Board of Directors. Nomination papers are available at the Raymond Town Office at 401 Webbs Mills Road during regular office hours. A candidate must collect 25, but not over 100, registered Raymond voter signatures to be added to the ballot. The deadline to submit nomination papers to the town clerk is 4 p.m. April 9. The election will be held June 8.
