Leroy E. “Roy” Tripp

PORTLAND – Leroy E. “Roy” Tripp, 86, passed away peacefully at the Barron Center after a period of declining health on Sunday, Jan. 24, 2021. Roy was born Oct. 28, 1934 in Rumford, the son of Martin and Hazel (Martel) Tripp.

Roy served our country in the US Army, attended Boston University, and worked for the State of Maine Dept of Health in Communicable Diseases as a Contact Tracer.

Roy is survived by his wife Jane Annable Tripp; daughters Darlene Tripp and Doreen Leighton; sister Sandy Brown; grandchildren Beau, Bree, Chance and Lindsay; great-grandchildren Ryan, Belle, Shire, Callie, and Camdyn. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Roy is predeceased by his parents; brother Kenneth; son Michael; and grandson Ryan Lee.

A private memorial service will be planned at a later date.
