I believe that I am able to leap tall buildings, run faster than a speeding locomotive and possibly meet this virus head on. Why the euphoria?

Last week I celebrated my 89th birthday. This week I received the second COVID vaccination injection. The light at the end of the isolation tunnel is almost visible. Visiting my grandchildren, coffee with friends, impromptu chatting in the grocery store, shopping without a preformed battle plan – all these small activities will once more be ours.

But, but, still be cautious. Still be careful. Yes, yes, I promise. Masking, hand washing, 6-foot distancing – I promise all of it. But I can see that tiny beam of light at the end of this dark tunnel.

I give in to my euphoria! Bring on the tall buildings! Bring on the speeding locomotives!
