Miles to plow
Public Services the plows more than 100 miles of roads, streets and highways, Operations Manager Arty Ledoux said Monday.
That equates to plowing the distance from Westbrook to Boston.
In addition, the crew clears probably more than 20 miles of sidewalks in the city. The city has 17 pieces of equipment including trucks and sidewalk plows, and it hires an additional three pieces of equipment, he said.
Public Services handles the chore with 25 people.
