Dan Gayer, Baker Newman Noyes
Dan has been part of the firm’s state and local tax practice since he joined BNN in 2011. Dan works with clients ranging from small firms to public companies. Dan focuses on multi-state compliance, planning, and consulting, working primarily with professional services, technology, and manufacturing and distribution clients. In addition to income and franchise tax, Dan has extensive experience in sales and use tax matters, with a focus on practical solutions. He earned a bachelor’s degree in biology from Harvard University in 2006 and a law degree from the University Of Maine School of Law in 2010.
Steve Veazey, SCORE
Steve brings over 20 years of financial management experience in a professional services environment and 10 years as a practicing CPA to his role as a business mentor at SCORE where he provides assistance in financial management, operations management, marketing & general business management to SCORE clients. Among his specialties are budgeting and financial analysis, planning for growth marketing, cash flow projections and operations. He led an agricultural initiative in Maine to bring SCORE mentoring services to farmers and other agribusinesses. Steve holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s in business administration from Cornell University.
Mark Delisle, Maine Small Business Development Centers
Mark joined the Maine SBDC in April 2008 as state director overseeing implementation of the small business assistance program and delivery of its services. He brings to the position extensive experience as a small business owner, most recently as an independent retailer of fine art supplies and picture framing in Bath from 2002-2007. He also worked in Maine from 1999-2001 as an independent consultant in internet marketing, selling fine art in various media. He has been a senior consultant for a multinational technology consulting company specializing in web development and network services. For 11 years, he held various positions, including Director, in the Information Technology division at Hannaford Bros. Co. in Scarborough. Mark has a master’s in Business Administration and a bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.
Sarah Guerette, Director and Senior Business Adviser, Coastal Enterprises Inc.
As the director of the Women’s Business Center at CEI in southern Maine, Sarah Guerette provides technical assistance to new and existing small businesses in southern Maine, with a focus on women-owned businesses. Services include one-on-one advising, workshop facilitation, and event coordination on a range of topics including: business planning, business financing and sustainable growth. Originally from Bangor, Sarah has worked with small business owners both in Boston and in Ecuador, where she lived for nearly five years. She holds a B.S. from the University of Maine and an M.B.A. from Boston University.
