Logan Smith, 5, of Harpswell tears down the hill at the Harpswell Community School Monday. Logan was enjoying the fifth annual Harpswell Community Snow Day, which is organized by the Harpswell Heritage Land Trust and the Harpswell Department of Recreation. Families were invited to sled and snowshoe while enjoying some hot cocoa. Gina Perow, Harpswell recreation director, said the event is designed to help parents and community members meet one another. “The geography of Harpswell is so unique it can create this divide in the community,” she said. “We hold it on Presidents’ Day hoping people have the day off so they can meet their neighbors.”  Kathleen O’Brien / The Times Record
