CAPE ELIZABETH — The town’s overnight winter parking ban has gone into effect as of Dec. 1. To leave roads clear for snow removal, no vehicle can be left on the roadways from 1-5 a.m. until April 1.
Parking is prohibited along the Route 77 “BikeWay” wherever posted and adjacent to any business zone. Parking inside the school complex is allowed only in designated areas. Cars should not be parked within 20 feet of any intersection or within 10 feet of a fire hydrant.
Cape Elizabeth Public Safety and Public Works may call for additional daytime parking bans during major snowfalls this coming winter. Check the town’s Facebook page for updates.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
