BANGOR — A priest who got into a fight with man on trial for murder says the victim was his best friend.
The Rev. Anthony Cipolle testified the fight erupted because Philip Clark was angry that Cipolle and the victim, Clark’s sister-in-law, had removed some tools. Two hours later, Renee Henneberry Clark was shot 10 times in her apartment in Hampden.
The Bangor Daily News reports that Cipolle testified Thursday he helped Henneberry Clark remove marital assets in July 2018 because she feared her husband and Philip Clark. He told jurors he didn’t realize the tools belonged to the defendant.
Clark, who’s on trial for murder, told police he snapped because the victim pushed “every frigging button.”
