KENNEBUNK – When Regional School Unit 21 went looking for a new interim assistant principal for Middle School of the Kennebunks, they found one right in the building.
Nathan Bean has been selected to fill the position formerly held by Margaret Parkhurst, who was recently named interim assistant superintendent of the school district.
Bean brings more than 19 years of teaching experience to the position. He taught for four years for the Spurwink School before joining the staff at Middle School of the Kennebunks in 2004.
He served as special education teacher for the next seven years and has taught U.S. History for the past eight years
“We are excited to welcome Nate to our team at MSK.” said Principal Marty Bouchard, “Nate has over 20 years of experience in middle level education. He will be a tremendous asset to our school community.”
Bean earned a bachelor’s degree in political science from Johns Hopkins University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from the University of Southern Maine
He obtained his assistant building administrator certification in 2017 and completed his administrative internship at the Middle School of the Kennebunks during the 2018-19 school year.
He has been involved in coaching and committee work throughout his time working in RSU 21.
