Marjorie Jean Rogers Hawkes

BATH – Marjorie Jean Rogers Hawkes, went to meet the love of her life on Oct. 8, 2019, Edward, at their final destination.
Born May 5, 1930, to Parker and Eleanor Morse Rogers, she enjoyed her childhood between the family farm on the Clifford Road and later in the Winnegance section of Phippsburg. She attended school in Phippsburg and graduate from Morse High School in the class of 1948. As a young lady she worked at Holland Hunt Jewelry Store on Front Street in Bath.
On June 12, 1948, she married the love of her life, Edward Hawkes. After marrying, the couple purchased “The Farm” in North Bath where they spent all their days raising seven kids. The couple owned and operated Hawkes Farm & Greenhouse with locations in Bath, North Bath and Wiscasset. Marge was a den mother for the cub scouts, boy scouts and girl scouts when her children were growing up, she served on numerous boards for the City of Bath, was involved in the Wiscasset community as a business owner and was an active member of the Morse High School Alumni Association donating flowers each year for the annual banquet.
Marge will now be joining her husband, Edward, son, Kevin, grandsons, Mickey, Paxton and Parker, along with her parents, and brother, Harold, for the future family functions.
Remembering Marge at family gatherings will be son, Gary and wife Sue Hawkes of Cundy’s Harbor, daughter, Karen Hawkes of North Bath, daughter-in-law, Ada Hawkes of Snowmass, Colo., daughter, Suzanne and husband Mickey Misner of Westport Island, son, Mark and wife Margie Hawkes of Phippsburg, son, Scott Hawkes of Brunswick and daughter, Beth Hawkes and husband Dennist Campbell of Whitefield; her grandchildren, Jimmy Oliver and Jean Ann Williams of North Bath, Jen Stuart, Gary and Cory Hawkes of Cundy’s Harbor, Heath Hawkes of Phippsburg, Stacy Anestis of Boxborough, Mass., Amie Hawkes of Snowmass, Colo., Jarrod and Chris Hawkes of Phippsburg, Lisa Gingue of Stem, N.C., Scottie and Brian Hawkes of Brunswick, Tiffany and Nate Leeman of North Bath and Nick Leeman of Whitefield, along with 38 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and her eighth child, Noel Stilphen of Connecticut.
The family invites friends to a celebration of her life on Saturday, October 19, at 2 p.m., at Daigle Funeral Home, 819 High St., Bath.  Burial will follow at the Oak Grove cemetery in Bath.
