FREEPORT — The Freeport High School field hockey team scored early and often en route to a 7-2 Western Maine Conference win over Wells on Monday.
The Falcons improved to 5-2-1 and host York on Wednesday at 4 p.m.
Autumn Golding scored first for Freeport at the 26:49 mark with the assist going to Aynslie Decker.
Decker scored off a corner with the assist to Hannah Groves. Kyla Havey added a breakaway goal at 15:20. Groves, Faith Cleaves and Decker each tallied a goal before the first half ended for a 6-0 Freeport lead.
In the second half, Rachel Harmon added a goal for the hosts.
For Wells, Ashleigh Bolduc had both goals in the second half.

At Rumford, the Falcons received two goals each from Riley and Avery Sevigny for a Mountain Valley Conference over the Greyhounds, who fell to 1-6 and visits Spruce Mountain on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m.
Nora Tag made two saves for the Falcons (6-2) and Autumn Freeman had an assist.
Rebecca Budesheim made 12 saves for the Greyhounds.
Boys soccer
BATH — Camden Lesselle finished off a pass from Jackson Tweede with 1:57 remaining in regulation to lift Gardiner to a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over Morse at McMann Field.
Down 2-0 at the half, the Shipbuilders (0-7) tied the game on a goal each from Gavin Hanna (assisted by Alden Harkins) and Lucas Ouimette (Asa Hodgdon).
Gardiner’s first-half goals came from Paul Casey and Tweede.
Morse goaltender Brenton Cahill turned away 11 shots.
The Shipbuilders visit Leavitt on Friday at 3:30 p.m.
