Editor,
Once again Biddeford’s Mayor stated (Journal Tribune Sept. 12, 2019 and City Council Workshop/Public Hearing Sept. 10, 2019) that there is a lot of misinformation going around, in reference to the proposed parking garage.
YES, there is misinformation going around. For Example — the administration has repeatedly/often told us that the purpose of the parking meters in the municipal parking lots, was to remove the financial burden (to maintain the municipal parking lots), off of the property tax payers.
NOW, we are being informed that this same revenue generated from/by municipal lot(s) parking meters, “is not to remove the financial burden off the taxpayers, but rather to help pay for the parking garage,” (reference literature distributed/made available at the Biddeford City Council Workshop/Public Meeting on Sept. 10, 2019.
This is another case of misinformation from leadership to the taxpayers.
