BATH – Marion E. Craige, 91, died at Midcoast Hospital Sunday, Sept. 1, 2019. She was born July 30, 1928 in Sebasco, daughter of Archie and Grace Alexander, the eldest of six children. Born in Cundy’s Harbor, she grew up in Sebasco and attended Phippsburg schools.
Marion was a devoted homemaker and mother to three children. She worked at W.I. Grants and Goodwill Store. Marion was a passionate gardener and prolific knitter which she donated to needy children. Marion was a member of Corliss St. Baptist Church and supported many church activities. Marion was a maker of Cabbage Patch Doll clothes which she sold at craft fairs and gave to many children.
Marion was predeceased by her husband John Whitney Craige, Sr.; parents Archie and Grace Alexander; brother Eugene Alexander, and sisters Eleanor, Ruby Wallace of West Point. She leaves behind a son, John Whitney Craige, Jr. of Lisbon Falls, and daughters Susan Jean Craige of Bath, and Anne Marie Koteras of Hitchcock, Texas. Marion had special delight in her four grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Marion’s wishes were to not have a funeral or memorial service. Internment at Oak Grove Cemetary (Middle School side) Saturday, Sept. 14, at 11 a.m.
