ARUNDEL — A 29-year-old Biddeford man died Wednesday night when the car he was driving left the roadway and hit a tree in the 1900 block of Portland Road, (U.S. Route 1 ) in Arundel, near the Biddeford line.
York County Sheriff William King said it appears that Bjoun Condappa died instantly.
The crash was reported at 11:45 p.m. Wednesday.
Sheriff’s deputies determined Condappa lost control of his 2007 Infinity G35, which left the roadway, careened off a utility pole and struck a tree. King said that the force of the crash caused the vehicle to split in two.
The sheriff said that speed appears to be a contributing factor in the crash.
Condappa was alone in the vehicle.
