BIDDEFORD — A new session of beginner swing dancing classes has launched in Biddeford.
The classes, offered by Lindy Maine, will introduce students to Lindy Hop, the original form of swing that was popular in the 1920s to 1940s. It is danced to the big band and traditional jazz music of the era.
Sessions are held on Mondays and focus on the six-count Lindy Hop, which is the easiest entry point to swing dancing. Class fees are $12 to try the first class or $70 for all seven classes. A student (high school or college) discount is available.
Interested students can find more information at https://lindymaine.weebly.com/swing.html or by calling 201-704-3895.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
