WEST KENNEBUNK — The Astronomical Society Of Northern New England will presents its Starfest Weekend 2019 from Sept. 20 through Sept. 22 at the Talmage Observatory at Starfield on Route 35 in West Kennebunk.

Participants may ask what do black holes look like and find that the answer doesn’t surprise them.

During this year’s StarFest, Seth Lockman of Maine will return to give a “Tent Talk” presentation at 7 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 21.

Lockman created and co-hosted Radio Astronomy, a radio talk show about space science and exploration. He is now a JPL Solar System Ambassador. With backgrounds in online presence development, technical writing, and rapid prototyping with software, Lockman now works telling the story on social media of aerospace startup bluShift and the team working to bring launch services to Maine.

He has lived all over the state of Maine, and earned his high school diploma from the Maine School of Science and Mathematics. Shortly after graduating from UMaine, he created a weekly half-hour talk show about the night sky and the universe and during its four-year run the panel interviewed some amazing guests, presented at STEM functions across the state, and became the first radio show to join the NASA Museum Alliance.

Located in Kennebunk, the Astronomical Society of Northern New England is an all-volunteer non-profit educational organization founded in 1982 to promote public awareness of astronomy.
