WISCASSET – George Elwood Knight, 72, of Alna Road died Friday, Aug. 9, 2019 at Togus Springs Hospice in Togus.
He was born in Naples on Aug. 1, 1947, a son of Percy Edwin and Hattie Louise (Williams) Knight.
He attended schools in Naples and entered the U.S. Navy in 1964, serving until 1968.
He was employed at Bath Iron Works as a pipe coverer, then as a welder, and retired as a boiler operator. He was a trustee at the Wiscasset Water District from 2014-2018.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marjorie M. Knight of Wiscasset; his daughter, Stacey Knight of Wiscasset; one sister, Debra Bell of Naples; three grandchildren, Abigail, Connor and Emily; and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by one sister, Linda Daniels.
There will be no services.
