Patricia Jane (“Patti”) Greene passed into Spirit Aug. 5, 2019, in Bath, Maine.
Patti was born on December 10, 1952, in Huntington, West Virginia, the fourth child of Dr. John and Jane Ahr Greene. At age one she moved with her family to their home in West Auburn, Maine. Patti attended the Auburn public schools, graduating in the Top Ten from Edward Little High School in 1971. She spent two years at the University of Colorado in Boulder before embarking on a European tour with friends. She was an avid and skillful photographer and chronicled her travels throughout Europe and the western United States.
Patti’s love of music took her to Deer Tree Theater in Harrison, Maine, where she spent time studying opera. She later studied accomplished jazz vocalists, and developed a beautiful singing voice herself.
Patti studied theater In Boston at the Leland Powers School in the late 70’s/early 80’s, but realized that her real talent lay in her singing ability.
Patti’s active life was cut short in her early 40’s by the onset of multiple sclerosis.
Patti was predeceased by her brother, John Ahr Greene, and by her parents, Dr. John and Jane Ahr Greene. She is survived by her sisters Valerie Murphy Greene and Charles Murphy of West Bridgewater, MA; Betsy and Kim Rode of Bath, Maine; Holly Greene and Martin McKenna of Brunswick,Maine; and Kate Greene, of Hanson, MA; by her nephews John Fletcher Greene of New Hartford, NY, and Nicholas Crane of NYC; her nieces Jillian Kenny, of Chelmsford, MA; Dana Crane, of Rockland, Maine, Maggie McKenna or Brunswick, ME, and Hannah Muldoon of West Bridgewater, MA; and by her grand nieces Shea Kenny, Riley and Emma Muldoon; and her grand nephews Finnegan Kenny, Marlin Keuneke and Noah Muldoon.
Patti’s family extends great thanks to the staff at the (former)
Freeport Nursing Home and the Winship Green Nursing home in Bath for their wonderful extended care of her; also warm gratitude to the owner and staff at the Tavern at Harraseeket Inn in Freeport. We are so grateful for the loving and uplifting kindness shown Patti by the members of Compassus Hospice of Scarborough and Constellation Hospice of Lewiston.
There will be a Time of Remembrance for Patti to be held.at.the home of Holly Greene at 202 Church Road, Brunswick, on Sunday, August 25, at 1:00 PM.
