Editor,
In his letter published Aug. 1, Mr. Aberletain characterized President Trump’s counter-attacks on five members of Congress as “racist’ and as saying “some very bad and horrible things about the cities of Baltimore and San Francisco.”
There is nothing racist about criticizing the deplorable behavior of five members of Congress. Their race is irrelevant. The content of their character is the issue, not the color of their skin. (It seems that any criticism of a Democrat today is deemed racist by Democrats.)
Furthermore, President Trump’s truthful comments about the deplorable conditions in the streets of Baltimore and San Francisco — two Democrat-governed cities — are a criticism of the mismanagement and terrible governance of those Democratic politicians. It is not a critique of the unfortunate victims — the residents of those cities — of these politicians incompetence and poor performance.
Our president is shining the light of truth on his political opponents. Nothing hypocritical about that!
