SACO — A Hollis man died in a motorcycle accident in Saco early Sunday morning.
Saco police and fire departments were called to respond to a call of a single motorcycle crash at 2:55 a.m. on Sunday at 240 Buxton Road, said Deputy Police Chief Corey Huntress.
Upon arrival, police found a red 2002 Harley Davidson motorcycle on the embankment next to the road.
Initial investigation showed the motorcycle left the road while entering a curve, and the operator, Christopher Lucier, 35, of Buxton, was thrown off the motorcycle.
Lucier was not wearing a helmet and was pronounced dead at the scene of accident, said Huntress. The crash remains under investigation.
Lucier was a talented builder and in addition to carpentry enjoyed hunting and working with electronics, according to an online obituary. He was working to complete the requirements for a pyrotechnics license, according to his obituary.
Friends and family of Lucier are holding a fundraiser to assist with funeral expenses from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m on Aug. 10 at Skip’s Lounge in Buxton.
