TOPSHAM — The State Fire Marshal’s Office said a Topsham man has been charged after allegedly setting a fire inside his apartment last month.
Jesse Watts, 35, was arrested Monday by Brunswick Police at Mid Coast Hospital, where he had been admitted for a medical condition since the June 18 fire, according to Sgt. Joel Davis of the state fire marshal’s office.
The fire took place at an apartment at 2 Old Augusta Road in Topsham, according to a news release. The fire was allegedly set on the kitchen counter, and there was minor damage to the apartment. No other injuries were reported.
Watts has been charged with arson and was taken to the Two Bridges Regional Jail.
