Goddard has been waiting for a home at Midcoast Humane since February 16 and is a “No Paw Left Behind” animal, which means he’s been at the shelter for longer than most of our residents.  He is a handsome 14-year-old shorthair tabby, a sweet older boy who loves comfy beds, a good snack and ear scratches. His elderly former owner had to surrender Goddard when he could no longer care for him. He is used to getting lots of love and he’s ready to leave shelter life behind him. He’s also used to being the only pet at home, and we have observed that he’s not wild about other cats.

Goddard is being treated for a chronic hyperthyroid condition that will need lifelong medication and regular monitoring with his veterinarian, but on his meds, he does just fine. Hyperthyroidism is an inexpensive condition to treat, coming to about 30 cents a day. Goddard gets a pill in the morning and again in the evening, and he gobbles them right up when they’re mashed into a little canned cat food, which is his favorite thing to eat.  His adoption fee has been waived.0
