Rev. Donald Joseph Maguire went home to be with his Lord, April 29h, 2019. He was born March 30th, 1947 in Providence, Rhode Island. He served with distinction in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. The course of his life was powerfully altered when he encountered the transforming love and redemption of Jesus Christ. He was called into Pentecostal Ministry, graduated from Faith School of Theology in Charleston, Maine, ordained in 1979, and later achieved his Master’s Degree in Theology.
His ministry encompassed many roles as a Children’s Evangelist, Instructor at Faith School of Theology, Associate Pastor at Faith Tabernacle in East Hartford, CT, Pastor of Southbridge Full Gospel Church and Founder of Southbridge Christian Academy in Southbridge, MA, Pastor of Dexter Pentecostal Church in Dexter, ME, and Missions Coordinator to outreaches in Haiti, Panama, and Russia. Since 2001, Pastor Don has been a Co-Founder and Associate Pastor of Gospel Light Fellowship. His Godly influence and passion for end-time Revival has profoundly touched countless lives, inspiring many others to follow in dedicated service to Jesus Christ. He was known for his strong faith, command in the Word of God, compassion, and incredible sense of humor.
He is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Rev. Gayla R. Maguire of Bowdoin, daughter, Callie Faulkner & Family of Mars Hill; daughter, Chantel Limogues & Family of Columbus, GA; son, Russel Hasting & Family of Sangerville; Grandchildren: Kayla, Courtney, Stephen, Alexis, Elijah, and Lorenzo; sister, Shirley Mullen & Family of Norway; sister-in-law, Judy Maguire & Family of AZ; co-laborers, Rev.’s Arden & Brenda Cross, Brenden & Austin. Pastor Don was pre-deceased by his parents, Edward and Leola (Sutter) Maguire; brothers, Edwin Maguire and Ronald Maguire; and his sister, Hilda Frost.
The Legacy Celebration will be held on Sunday, May 5th, 4pm at Gospel Light Fellowship, 412 State Road, West Bath, ME. In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to Gospel Light Fellowship’s Building Fund, 58 Wildwood Dr., Brunswick, ME 04011.
