BRUNSWICK – Lorraine Eleanor (Arquitte) Myshrall’s sweet soul went to heaven late in the evening on March 1, 2019. She was 78.
Lorraine was born in Brunswick, Maine, on Aug. 20, 1940, the daughter of Eleanor Mae (Tewksbury) and Lewis Thomas Arquitte.
Lorraine grew up in Brunswick and graduated from Brunswick High School in 1958. Lorraine married Carol Myshrall, Feb. 7, 1959. They were married 47 years until his death in 2006.
In Lorraine’s younger years she worked at Grand City, Bowdoin College, and Eastland Shoe, and was a devoted wife and mother, raising her three children in Freeport. In her later years she worked at Deering Ice Cream (is this where her love for ice cream began?), and for Maine Line Tours as a tour escort. She loved her job as an escort and thoroughly enjoyed traveling the East Coast and Canada, where her love of travel and kindness to others were very evident to all who were lucky enough to travel with her. Lorraine enjoyed being a lionesses with her friends and volunteered many years writing and editing articles for the Freeport News. Lorraine always looked forward to her favorite holiday, Christmas, and her yearly tradition of stuffing huge stockings full of fruit, candy and goodies for the Freeport Police and Fire Departments, and always made sure they were delivered in the early hours of Christmas morning.
Lorraine loved reading, shopping, searching for treasures off the beaten path, any kind of dancing, especially square dancing, and listening to Elvis Presley and Rock n Roll. But her greatest joy and most important part of Lorraine’s life were her family and friends. She cherished time spent with her children, grandchildren and friends, they were her world, and their happiness meant everything to her.
Lorraine was predeceased by her parents, her brother, her husband and her grandson.
Lorraine is survived by her son, Lennie Myshrall, her daughter, Deborah Uecker and her husband Craig Uecker, her daughter, Katherine Day and her husband Don Day; and her five beloved grandchildren, Nicole Crone, Erik Crone, Rebecca Moore-Myshrall, Elizabeth Day and Hannah Day.
A celebration of her life will be held in the spring, her favorite season, when the magnolias are blossoming and the scent of lilacs and lily of the valley are in the air. Lorraine’s dear sweet heart will be forever cherished and forever missed.
