I have ceased to read John Balentine’s opinion pieces because he is an ideologue who doesn’t seem to actually have an “opinion” of his own. But today while flipping through The Forecaster this quote caught my eye: “These Democrats posit unrealistic solutions, such as killing all cows, banning air travel and gas-powered engines, and replacing every building in the country with a more energy efficient one.”

I at first thought this had to be satire, but no. Obviously Balentine hasn’t read the Green New Deal, which says nothing of the kind; neither has he heard that from any Democrats running for president. He also criticizes the “negative approach” of Democrats. Actually, the Green New Deal is a very positive approach that simply acknowledges some very negative realities. I appreciate thoughtful opinion pieces from those who hold different views than my own; I think The Forecaster can do better than Balentine.
