A Westbrook woman was injured when her car crashed head-on into a truck Monday morning on River Road in Windham.
Windham police say Kaitlyn Rose, 26, was driving a 2000 Chevrolet Suburban north on River Road when it crossed into the oncoming lane. The Suburban hit a 2004 Kenworth Septic Service truck head-on, said Sgt. Peter Fulton.
Rose’s SUV flipped onto its roof and landed in a ditch. She was taken to Maine Medical Center in Portland with serious injuries, Fulton said.
On Monday night, Windham police Capt. William Andrew said Rose was discharged from the hospital Monday afternoon.
The driver of the truck, Michael Libby, 47, of Windham, was not injured in the crash. The truck sustained damage but was operable, Fulton said.
No charges have been filed in connection with the crash, which was reported around 6:30 a.m. River Road was closed from the intersection with Page Road to the Windham Center Road rotary until 10:15 a.m.
The Windham Police Department’s accident reconstruction team is investigating the cause of the crash. The Maine State Police Commercial Enforcement Unit went to the scene because the crash involved a commercial vehicle.
