HAVERHILL, Mass. – Wayne “Chip” Cochrane, 48, passed away enveloped in the love and care of his family and friends at BIDMC on March 28, 2019, after a swift and cruel battle with angiosarcoma of the liver. Wayne was the son of Wayne Sr., and Peggy Cochrane, of Brunswick, Maine. Born in Rockland, Maine, and raised in Thomaston and Bath, Maine. Wayne graduated from Morse High School in Bath, Maine, in 1988 and attend USM and later, University of Lowell, earning a degree in sound recording technology. Wayne worked for Avid Technology for 16 years before joining Symbotic as the QA Manager in 2016. A skilled and enthusiastic musician, Wayne played piano, guitar, bass, trumpet and horn and was a soulful vocalist. Wayne was known for his quick wit, encyclopedic knowledge of all things history, science, music, popular culture, Game of Thrones and Star Wars. He was a consummate conversationalist. Wayne met his bride, Kathy Williams Cochrane, in Salem, Mass., in 1996 and married in March 15, 2003. Together they built a lasting life of love, care, devotion, humor, respect and simple pleasures. In addition to his bride and parents, Wayne leaves behind his beloved niece and nephew, Maggie and Sam Chipman, of South Portland, Maine; Jay Euzukonis, who was like a brother to him; and many uncles, aunts and cousins. Wayne was predeceased by his sister, Christine Cochrane Chipman, in 2009. There will be no memorial service in keeping with Wayne’s wishes; however, there is to be a Celebration of Wayne’s life later this summer.
