John Balentine should be ashamed of his comments lauding prominent Maine Republicans who called Gov. Janet Mills’ proposed $8 billion spending plan “a disaster waiting to happen.”

Balentine predicates his opinion on the budgetary actions of former Gov. Paul LePage who successfully lowered the budget on the backs of the poor, the homeless, the addicted, and those who were deprived of welfare because of his heartless budget proposals.

Gov. Mills is not “like the drunk who buys a round for the boys at the bar,” but a governor who has compassion for the needy.
