LISBON — One person was flown by LifeFlight helicoper to Lewiston’s Central Maine Medical Center after a head-on crash on Ridge road Friday.

Police say Christine Amaya, 52, of Sabattus crossed the center line with her Chevy Blazer and ran into a grey Chevy pickup driven by 37-year-old Nicole Norman of Lisbon just before 4 p.m.
“The driver actually saw the other vehicle crossing the centerline and came to a stop in the other lane when she was hit,” said Police Chief Marc Hagan.
The helicopter took Amaya to the hospital after first responders removed her from the severely damaged vehicle. She suffered multiple fractures but is in stable condition, according to police. Norman was take to Central Maine Medical Center by ambulance and later released.
Ridge Road, also known as Route 9, was closed to traffic for several hours as Brunswick Police reconstructed the crash.
Hagan said charges are pending while the department awaits toxicology test results, which usually take at least two to three weeks.
