A North Anson man was found dead after a fire swept through a house at 46 North Main St. in the early-morning hours Thursday, police said.
The body of the man, who was 63 and lived at the home, was recovered from the kitchen by investigators from the Office of the State Fire Marshal, according to a news release Thursday from Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Department of Public Safety.
Investigators are seeking relatives out of state to notify them of the death of the man, whose identity was not immediately released.
McCausland said a team of investigators is trying to determine the cause of the fire that engulfed the house during the pre-dawn hours.
