PORTLAND — Ten people were named Dec. 28 to the Waterfront Working Group established to work on zoning, land use, parking and preserving marine uses along Commercial Street.

The group will meet the first and third Thursday of each month in open meetings at 3 p.m. in City Hall, city spokeswoman Jessica Grondin said in a Dec. 28 news release.

Included in the group are lobstermen Bill Coppersmith, Willis Spear and Keith Lane; pier owners Steve DiMillo, Charlie Poole and Mike Alfiero; Becky’s Diner owner Becky Rand; Downeast Dayboat Scallops owner Togue Brawn, and community members Dory Waxman and Cyrus Hagge.

The group will meet during the six-month moratorium on non-marine development in the Waterfront Central Zone, enacted by city councilors on Dec. 17, 2018.
