Community TV changes
Westbrook Community TV reminds residents that if they are looking for televised City Council and School Committee meetings, they now have to look in a different place. In late November, Spectrum shifted local meetings from channels 2 and 3 to channels 1301 and 1302.
In order to see those meetings, or other television programming, customers who have been connecting their cable into the back of their televisions have to get a cable box. The box will be free at first, but in the future the boxes will range in cost from $7.50 to $11.75 a month.
According to a press release from the city, “Spectrum has notified its customers by sending letters and emails and running ads on its cable system to alert customers to the change.”
Aside from on channels 1301 and 1302, local meetings can be found at westbrooktv.viebit.com, where meetings are archived, or on the city’s YouTube channel, www.youtube.com/user/CityOfWestbrookMaine.

Duddy to entertain

Ann McAlpine, spokeswoman for the seniors group, said it would not meet on Jan. 21.
A holiday break
Westbrook Historical Society will not meet in January. Programs usually are held at 1:30 p.m. on the first Wednesday monthly in its headquarters at the community center, 426 Bridge St. The monthly programs will resume on Feb. 6.
