BIDDEFORD — Simone Berube, 88, known as “Pit” to her family, passed away peacefully on Dec. 18, 2018.
She grew up and lived in the Biddeford area. She made it through the Depression and the Second World War and was predeceased by all of her siblings becoming the last of her generation.
She is survived by her nephew Richard Lemay, niece Susan Johnston, their families, and several other nieces and nephews. She was a fierce, strong and proud woman; those close to her never doubted how much she loved them.
Visiting hours will be 3 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 20 at Hope Memorial Chapel 480 Elm St., Biddeford, ME 04005. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 21 in the St. Anne Chapel of St. Joseph Church in Biddeford. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
