SACO — Maine State Police have identified the man struck and killed on the Maine Turnpike near Saco early Saturday morning as Tyler Seaver, 27, of Biddeford.
Maine Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said troopers are still trying to determine why Seaver was walking along the turnpike.
He was first struck by a car and then by a tractor-trailer truck.
McCausland identified the driver of the car as James Yionen, 47. The truck was operated by Christoph Phillips, 49.
Hometowns of the two drivers was not immediately available. Neither was injured.
The accident took place in the northbound lanes about 3 a.m. Saturday.
The northbound lanes were closed at the crash site for four hours, and traffic was detoured during that time.
