Mary Eileen Anderson, “Eileen,” peacefully passed away on Dec. 11, 2018, in Farmington, Maine.

She is survived by her six children, Debbie Graul, Kathleen Anderson, Steven Anderson, Virginia Anderson, Neil Anderson and Penny Ames. She had and loved 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren who will all miss their “Gram.”

Eileen was born, Mary E. O’Shea, in New York, N.Y., in 1927. She attended area schools and high schools.

Her first employment was as a telephone operator for Bell Telephone.

She married Jack Anderson on June 6, 1948. They were married for 48 years at his death on Dec. 24, 1996.

Eileen worked for many years in Patient Registration at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Prior to that, she and Jack owned and operated the Seven Seas Gift Shop in the Westgate Mall on Union Street in Bangor and then The Olde World Gourmet Shop, also in the Westgate Mall.

Eileen and Jack lived for a time in Winterport, Maine, followed by many years on Maple Street in Bangor, Maine. For several years they resided in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

After Jack’s death, Eileen returned to Maine and lived at Pjepscot Terrace in Brunswick. Her final years were spent in central Maine, in Norridgewock, Skowhegan and finally at the Pierce House in Farmington.
