Editor,
On behalf of the Saint James School Parents Friends and Teachers Association (PFTA), we would like to extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to the volunteers and sponsors of this year’s Trot for Catholic Education 5K and Kids Fun Run, which took place on Saturday, Nov. 3. Despite the inclement weather, we surpassed our fundraising goal and had the most race registrants since our event’s inception four years ago.
Many hands contributed to our success – including our very own Saint James students. Numerous students ran/walked, participated as an event fundraiser – even volunteered their time, and we are very proud of them. We would also like to thank our principal, Nancy Naimey, and the Biddeford Police Department for their assistance.
We hope community members will mark their calendars and save the date for next year’s race. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2019.
Shelley Kane and Sherri Locke

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
