PORTLAND — The Parent Teacher Organization at Longfellow Elementary School is continuing its annual tradition of collecting donations for Thanksgiving baskets to give to families in need.

In addition to traditional Thanksgiving meal items and homemade baked goods, the  PTO is also seeking donations of healthy snacks for students to take home over the holiday weekend.

Non-perishable items can be placed in a bin near the school’s front door no later than 9 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 20. Financial contributions will be accepted through Friday, Nov. 16.
