WELLS — At 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 13, the first dodgeball tournament of its kind will be held will be held in the Wells High School gymnasium.
This fundraising event is sponsored by Team Cam, the WHS Civil Rights Team and the WHS Student Council.
Team Cam is a support group formed last summer to fundraise for former Wells High School student-athlete Cameron Cousins and his family. He is battling Hodgkins Lymphoma and he and his family are dealing with significant medical expenses incurred from this illness.
A 2018 Wells High graduate, Cousins is a true Wells Warrior who played soccer, baseball and basketball during his high school career.
During the tournament, several dodgeball teams consisting of students and faculty members will compete with one another. Wells students are welcome to sign up to play as teams are still being formed.
Admission to the event for the general public is $5.
According to Team Cam member and Health teacher Nancy Cotty, teams will not only compete on the floor in some interesting dodgeball attire, but also in a costume contest. Infact, all students and faculty who play in the tournament are encouraged to dress up in costume.
