Nearly 174,000 voters had already cast their ballots in Maine as of 4 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5. That represents 16.9 percent of the state’s registered voters.

Democrats are turned out early in much greater numbers than Republicans or other voters: 75,378 registered Democrats voted before Election Day, compared to 49,865 registered Republicans.
