SANFORD — The Sanford football team continued its recent hot streak with a 60-26 win over Deering on Friday night.
It was the fifth straight win for the Spartans, who had dropped the first two games of the season.
Sanford quarterback Xavier Levine went 6 of 8 through the air for 107 yards and three touchdowns in the win.
Leyton Bickford caught two touchdown passes from Levine, while Carson Bickford had three catches for 102 yards and two scores — one from Levine and one from Caleb Saucier on a 46-yard trick play score.
Jared Bissonnette had an 80-yard touchdown run and Ethan Shain scored on a 45-yard run.
Saucier and Carson Bickford each returned interceptions for touchdowns as the Spartans improved to 5-2.
Sanford will face a tough test next Saturday when the Spartans travel to Saco to face the undefeated Thornton Academy Golden Trojans.
Noble 28, York 21
Bryson Lessard ran for a 3-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter to break a 21-21 tie and the Noble Knights picked up the win on Friday.
Lessard also had a 1-yard TD run for the Knights, who improved to 5-2 on the season.
Brandon Drake scored on a 12-yard run and Matt Beerworth picked off a York pass and returned it 89 yards to the house.
David Hamme made all four extra points to help the Knights secure the win.
Wells 33, Mountain Valley 0
Tyler Bridge ran for two scores and returned the second-half kickoff 80 yards for a touchdown as the Warriors improved to 7-0.
Jonah Potter also had a pair of touchdown runs, including a 63-yard scoring scamper, to help Wells stay unbeaten.
