SACO — The Thornton Academy boys soccer team scored a second-half goal and then held on from there for a 1-0 win over visiting Windham on Tuesday.
Eric McCallum provided the game winner just eight minutes into the second half for the Golden Trojans, who are now 4-5-1 on the season.
TA goalie Travis Snyder stopped six shots in the win. Windham’s Cameron Brown also had six saves on Tuesday.
Volleyball
Biddeford 3, South Portland 1
Gracie Martin finished with 30 kills and was a perfect 21 of 21 on serves to lead the Tigers to the win.
Martin also had 20 digs for Biddeford, which got 45 assists from Brooke Reissfelder. Olivia Whittaker added 32 digs and had 95-percent passing accuracy in the win.
Biddeford, which got 20 digs apiece from Lexi Matteau and Renee Dutremble, improved to 7-3 with the win.
The Tigers will visit Massabesic on Thursday.
